Description

Reserve Uji Matcha is the highest expression of the Kaizen Collection.

Hand-picked from first-flush tencha in Uji, Kyoto, Reserve is aged for depth, slowly stone-milled in small batches, and blended for a connoisseur-level matcha experience.

Silky in texture, clean in umami, and soft in sweetness, it drinks with more clarity, more depth, and more character.

Enjoy it as usucha, koicha, or in tight-ratio, umami-rich milk drinks where the matcha leads.

This is the matcha you reach for when only the best cup will do.

The Kaizen Collection

The Kaizen Collection is Zenbumi's highest tier of matcha.

Made in Uji, Kyoto from hand-picked, first-flush tencha, it begins with the youngest tea leaves grown under near-total shade to deepen color, sweetness, and umami. The tencha is aged for up to a year and a half, then slowly stone-milled into an exceptionally refined matcha.

Each blend is built from select cultivars, including rare Uji varieties such as Samidori, Gokou, Asahi, and Ujihikari. In the Uji tradition, matcha is judged by color, aroma, taste, and depth of flavor.

The Kaizen Collection is designed as a climb toward the highest expression of Uji matcha, with each matcha revealing more depth, more nuanced flavor, and a fuller experience of what matcha can be.

A Note on Fairness...

The Blends

Origin & Cultivar

Every Kaizen Collection matcha is sourced exclusively from Uji, Kyoto — Japan’s most revered region for ceremonial tea.

The tencha is hand-picked from the first harvest, then expertly blended and aged before stone-grinding. Depending on the year and lot, our proprietary blends may include rare cultivars such as Gokou, Asahi, or Ujihikari — alongside Saemidori, Okumidori, and Yabukita.

You value consistent quality in terms of taste, aroma, color, and richness of flavor (amino acid content) so that every cup delivers the same smooth, vibrant experience — just as it was intended.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

How do I know Zenbumi is really better than other matcha?

Honestly? You won’t, not until you try it.

We’re not here to compete with other brands (some of them are doing great work). But we are here to do things differently. We source directly from Japan, curate our offerings carefully, and treat every product, even our most affordable, with the kind of care usually reserved for limited editions.

That said, matcha is personal. What matters most is how it tastes and how you feel when you drink it, not what we claim.

So try it. If it doesn’t move you, the Sakina Guarantee has your back. No pressure, just peace of mind.

How should I choose the right matcha?

Check out our Buyer’s Guide below. Whether you're drinking it straight, blending with milk, or baking — we’ve made it easy to find your match(a).

Zenbumi Matcha Buyers Guide

How does Zenbumi compare to other premium Japanese matcha brands?

We source from some of the same top-tier producers across Japan, the kind that supply matcha to Japan’s most celebrated names. The difference? We’re not locked into one family or factory. Instead, we work closely with expert blenders and producers to craft proprietary blends that emphasize balance, flavor, and feeling.

Are all your matcha blends?

Yes, we choose blended cultivars like Yabukita, Okumidori, and Saemidori for consistency and flavor precision. In our Kaizen Collection, you’ll also find rare cultivars like Gokou, Asahi, and Ujihikari. If a single-cultivar matcha meets our standards in the future, we may include it, but never just for show.

Is this really ceremonial grade?

Yes, with the exception of The Maker Matcha which is culinary grade. The Kaizen Collection includes matcha fit for competition, made with rare cultivars and aged tencha.

What if I don’t like it?

Try it. Love it. Or it’s on us — that’s the Sakina Guarantee. If you're unsatisfied, we’ll issue a refund. Still not happy? We’ll even buy your next matcha from a brand you trust.

Do you sell the tools to make matcha?

Yes, we do. Starting with our curated collection of handmade ceramics.

Each piece is chosen for its form, function, and quiet beauty. While our toolkit is intentionally limited for now, more essentials are coming soon.

Just what you need to enjoy your matcha, beautifully.
